About the Author
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Melissa F. Miller was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although life and love led her to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and, ultimately, South Central Pennsylvania, she secretly still considers Pittsburgh home.
In college, she majored in English literature with concentrations in creative writing poetry and medieval literature and was STUNNED, upon graduation, to learn that there's not exactly a job market for such a degree. After working as an editor for several years, Melissa returned to school to earn a law degree. She was that annoying girl who loved class and always raised her hand. She's clerked for a federal judge, worked for major international law firms, and started a two-person law firm with her lawyer husband.
Now, powered by coffee, she writes crime fiction and homeschools her children. When she's not writing, and sometimes when she is, Melissa travels around the country in an RV with her husband, three kids, their hound dog, and their cat.

Very good read....

I got my first book as an Amazon freebee. Half way through the book I was checking to see how many more books with the character of Sasha McCandless was available. The author is good at characterization, and her plotting is well developed and "something" new. She has a voice that is an easy read yet not 3rd grade sentence construction. If you enjoy a female lead that is anything but a shrinking violet, Sasha McCandless is the gal for you.
In all three books Sasha has a large law office or corporation in the shadows pulling strings and not being exactly up front and straight forward. Sasha is self sufficient, a scrapper in and out of the court room and a little off center....(love a character who is a little damaged and still finding the strength and passion to follow her hearts path.) Love is there, but only as a part of her world and not the center of her universe. She struggles with relationship issues but the books are about her defending her clients and clearing their names, not a hot mess of blow by blow sloppy sex scenes.
The author has written 3 good book for a rainy afternoon, cup of cafe mocha and the couch.

Book One Was A Killer

The first book was action filled and only a little romantic. It kept my interest throughout the story. It was as good a mystery as I have ever read. I will read the other two later. I like to take a break between books of one author. I am sure I will like the other two just as much as I did the first.

Wonderful series!

I just discovered this series and I have now read and enjoyed every book! Sasha is a wonderful heroine; strong, smart and take no prisoners. Two things that define and differentiate this series; Sasha is a savvy attorney as well as a Krav Magna expert so she is not waiting around for anyone to save her. This strength allows her to have a very balanced romantic relationship which is a nice change from many cozy chick lit mysteries and makes the series more realistic. Fans of bodice ripper romances may not like this series but professional women will eat it up!
