About the Author
Shaun Messick is an established writer and teacher. His works include fiction, personal development books and articles, and freelance blogging. He writes for several blogging websites, including CoxsHoney.com and his own blog - EmpyreanBooks.com. His first novel, Worlds Without End: The Mission, has experienced wide success with over 30,000 purchases on the Kindle alone. The next book in the series, Worlds Without End: Aftermath, has continued that trend with seventy-six percent of the reviews containing 4 and 5 stars. His current projects include Worlds Without End: The Prophecy, the third book in the Worlds Without End series, which is due for release early in 2015. He is also working on his first personal development book, 15 Secrets to Success.
In addition to writing, Shaun works full-time as a teacher. He enjoys teaching and working with youth. Moreover, he coaches high school boys basketball. His passions include spending time with his family, sports, reading, watching movies, playing Madden NFL Football, and - of course -writing.

'Aftermath' is here

Frankly I did not expect 'Aftermath' so soon - after all the criticism that the writer received last time, I did not expect second volume of 'Worlds Without End' for a while. But it is out and I am actually glad. Prose is slightly more polished, plot is uncomplicated but full of action, almost reminiscent of early sci-fi stories published in pulp magazines back in 1920s and 1930s.
I give this book 5 Stars not because this is a greatest book of all time but because it is different and, in my opinion, original. In the age of 'me toos', it is refreshing to see an author to write something that is completely congruent with his beliefs and worldview. Book utilizes doctrine of LDS Church and has strong religious overtones. Author is open about it and, learning a lesson from criticism he received last time, he includes a handy reference page that explains some of the more esoteric religious points that makes following the plot easier. Book is also unabashedly pro-American, and celebrates the American spirit. So, be warned :)
Overall, 'Aftermath' is a marked improvement over the first volume 'The Mission'. If you enjoyed the first volume or simply would like to read a different take on a sci-fi genre by a promising writer, while keeping an open mind, then give it a try.
Little side-note: publication is well formatted for Kindle, includes a click-able table of contents (always a plus) and well-edited.

just for fun

I enjoyed reading the current series of "Worlds without End". It's important for readers to just get lost in the story instead of comparing it against others and appreciate Messick's imagination. I look forward the book three release.

This is a great science fiction book with eternal truths woven throughout. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and is a true "can't put it down book. Can't wait for the third book.
